This course introduces York Technical College faculty and staff to the fundamentals of Generative AI and prompt engineering through a hands-on, practical approach. Participants will explore a variety of today's leading AI platforms before taking a deeper dive into Microsoft Copilot, learning how AI can enhance productivity, streamline everyday tasks, and support teaching, communication, and administrative work.

Through real-world examples and guided practice, participants will learn how to use Microsoft Copilot to draft and refine emails, summarize documents and meetings, brainstorm ideas, create presentations, analyze data, develop instructional materials, and simplify routine workflows using the Microsoft 365 tools they already use every day.

The course also emphasizes effective prompt writing, responsible and ethical AI use, privacy considerations, bias awareness, and strategies for evaluating AI generated content. By the end of the course, participants will have the confidence and practical skills to integrate AI into their daily work in meaningful, efficient, and responsible ways.

No prior AI experience is required.

This course is only open to Faculty and Staff of York Technical College.
