ClassGraphic This course will introduce students to the foundations of Generative AI and Prompt Engineering in a hands-on, career-focused way.  Students will learn how to design more effective prompts to receive desired results from various AI platforms.  Students will use these practical skills to create AI powered content, and apply those skills using tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini.  Emphasis will be placed on building confidence with core AP concepts while practicing responsible and ethical use.  Completers will leave with marketable skills that can be applied across business, education and technology roles. 

Students will have the option to take the Generative AI Foundations Exam to earn certification through Certiport.

This is a hybrid course.  At least the first 4 class meetings in-person.  More in-person class meetings may be held if the instructor deems it necessary.

Please read:  This course will be hybrid. At least the first 4 class meetings will occur in-person at the Chester York Tech Campus located at 525 College Place Chester, SC 29706. Most of the remaining class meetings will occur virtually through the D2L in a platform similar to Zoom. The final class meeting on March 9 will be in-person at the Chester Center for the certification exam.
