Gain insight into 16 common legal issues that many people face. This 8-week course, sponsored by the South Carolina Bar (from a grant provided by the Bar Foundation), is designed to give participants an overview of the SC legal system. All classes are taught by licensed attorneys or judges who will share information about these topics:
  • Juvenile Justice and Child Protection
  • Family Law
  • Real Estate & Landlord Tenant Law
  • Wills, Estate and Probate
  • Elder and Healthcare Law
  • Workers' Compensation and Employment Law
  • Bankruptcy Law
  • Consumer Law and Debt Collection
  • Criminal and Tort Law
  • Education Law
  • Immigration Law
Materials are included in course fee.
Couples may attend with a single course fee.
Class will meet Feb. 3 - March 24.  March 31 will be a makeup date, only if needed.
