Emergency medical technicians, also known as first responders, are in great demand. You can start a rewarding career as an EMT with just three to six months of training. EMTs work in a variety of settings, including county emergency services departments, private ambulance and transport companies and hospitals. This course prepares you to take the National Registry exam.

You must be a SC resident, must not owe anything to York Technical College, and your student loans must not be in default to get approved.
(If you have a GPA lower than 2.8) Completion of college-level Math and Reading OR Accuplacer test documenting placement score into college-level courses.
If you need to take a reading and math placement test, please contact our Assessment Center. Please allow at least 1 hour for each session of the test.
