The American Heart Association is always seeking professionals to conduct training in first aid, CPR, AED, and advanced cardiovascular care. If you are passionate about saving lives, motivated to facilitate learning, feel comfortable in group settings, and find it easy to make complex concepts understandable to others, you may be a perfect candidate.
BLS Instructor Essentials is the self-directed, online portion of the BLS Instructor Essentials Blended Learning Course. The course educates instructor candidates on how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. Upon completion of the course, Instructors can teach the BLS Provider Course, the HeartCode BLS Hands-On Session, and any course within the Heartsaver portfolio.
The BLS Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA BLS Instructor candidates must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on session conducted by BLS Training Center Faculty. Prior to taking this course, candidates must have a current BLS Provider course completion card. All candidates must be successfully be monitored teaching within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of their Instructor Essentials Course (TC Coordinators may require additional monitoring, if needed)
