Get started on your career as a Commercial Truck Driver!
Through classroom and driving instruction, this course prepares you to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. You will learn trucking regulations, operations and safety in truck transportation, map reading and logbook management. Instructors will also teach you how to perform pre-trip inspections, procedures for coupling/uncoupling and sliding fifth wheel and trailer tandems. Practice on the driving range will build your skills in braking, shifting and backing. On the road, you will practice shifting techniques, engine RPM management, stops, starts and turns.

YTC currently trains with automatic transmission trucks and offers manual transmission training as a refresher class for those that already have their CDL A with an "automatic transmission only" restriction.
