Emergency medical technicians (EMTs), also known as first responders, are in great demand.  You can start a rewarding career as an EMT with just three to six months of training. 
EMTs work in a variety of settings, including county emergency services departments, private ambulance and transport companies, and in hospitals. This 200-hour course prepares you to take the National Registry exam.
In compliance with the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) regulations, college-level math and reading skills are required to register for this course. Potential EMT students must present documentation of math and reading skill levels prior to registering.
